Camp or Bust + Honor Where It’s Due

In Life in General on June 26, 2007 at 10:57 pm

On the ‘morrow I shall wake early and not sleep well for 3 nights. What else could be in my future but camp? Submerge kicks off tomorrow. So, I will be postless for a few days. Enjoy!

Honor Where It’s Due:

app-1.jpg

The Bible instructs us to give honor where honor is due and I failed to do that last week. In my post about the HPC Classic, some of you may have been wondering how Griffis came up with the dough to pay the entry fee. Allow me to tell you. Ashamedly, I failed to give honor to Lee Domingue and AppOne. AppOne so graciously and generously sponsored our team and i wanted to be very clear that we are extremely grateful and i wanted to be certain to give AppOne the appropriate honor due for such a generous gift. AppOne, I salute you and sincerely thank you for affording us that awesome opportunity. Lee, you and the crew truly rock the proverbial cas bah!

New Personal Best

Here’s something insignificant. As you well know, I am a Wii Bowler. Speaking of, we are in the process of creating a Wii Bowling Tournament of Champions at the Highland Campus Refuge. I promise a good time will be had by all. Keep your ear to the ground for more details. Anyway, while it’s not the best ever, it is my best ever and I thought it necessary to share. Not amazing but it’ll do:

Just Made It

In Life in General on June 14, 2007 at 6:23 pm

It’s official! The new and improved “Griffis Is My Homeboy” shirts are going to be done on Tuesday the 26th. There will be 50 heather grey shirts and 50 blue shirts available. The limited shirts will come in limited sizes. There will only be small through XL available. The available quantities of each will be as follows:

Small -14

Medium – 15

Large – 14

XL – 3

If you are going to camp and want to place an order for a shirt to be held, now is the time and this Page Here is the place to do so. The orders will be held for you until the day we leave for camp. If you do not get it that day, then you will have to get it on a first come, first serve basis. If I sell out at camp, then you can place an order for the next batch if there is enough interest for a second order.

The final cost has yet to be determined, so as soon as I know my cost, I will be able to concretely determine the price. Hopefully the cost will not go up so much and I will be able to keep it at $10.

Weekend Events All Summer Long!

In Life in General on June 13, 2007 at 8:07 pm

In case you haven’t heard, the St. Francisville Refuge Crew is packing a whole lot of fun into one summer! We are literally packing as much as we can into this ‘007 heat wave. We had a whole lot of fun at the Slip and Slide (photos to be added someday soon), then we chilled at the office and played Wii all night and watched The Princess Bride for our Wii/Movie night. Then last week we hit the Amite River and went Tiki Tubing.

It was all good until I had a tube malfunction and had to float the last 1.5 miles on my inflated head rest after I ran into some trouble with a log.

Sunburns and dehydration aside, it was an incredible trip. This weekend, we are splitting up and the guys are going camping on Thompson Creek whilst the girls chill out and hit the Slumber Party Scene at the Kaiser residence. We are going to have a blast. Check the details here!

That takes care of Friday Night, then Saturday at 11am we are hitting the Hardwood Subdivision for a little outreach HPC Serve Style! Don’t miss out!

And The Winners Are:

Blue and Grey! These will be the royal blue as pictured and a heather grey, similar to the ARMY shirts you see everywhere. Not every opinion was posted, but every voice was heard. I hope to have these shirts in by camp. The kids shirts will have to wait, but they will come out once this batch of adult shirts are sold. The are a couple of slight setbacks. One is that the jury is still out on whether or not the blue eyes is possible for the printer. Either way, I hope you will enjoy our shirt. If you were wondering, the proceeds will go to help Jill and me get to Europe this August for a family vacation. How cool is that? The other possible setback is the price. last time the printing was one color and very cheap shirt quality. With a slight bump in quality and the two or three color screen, we may have to ask $12 instead. Let me know what you think. God bless and have a glorious day.

Choices, Choices, Choices . . .

In Life in General on June 13, 2007 at 2:56 am

OK boys and girls, here are your color choices.

I can only do two maybe three or these colors.

So hurry and tell me what you want. I must choose by Wednesday afternoon.

T-Shirts, Get Your T-Shirts

In Life in General on June 7, 2007 at 7:16 pm

Hey Everybody,

I was considering reprinting some of my Griffis Is My Homeboy shirts. I was just wondering if there was any interest. I’ve had several people come up and ask for them, but I need to be sure there is a genuine interest. I would also like to know what color shirts you all would like. Another thing is, I now have the Homeboy face as you see above with the blue eyes. Would you want the blue eyes or the standard all black and white as was originally the set-up? I need your input, so I can get you what you want. The shirts would be for $10 a piece as usual. What do you think? Is there really a genuine interest?

How Do You Like Me Now?

Goodbye Blogger. Hello WordPress! That’s right, I have been working on it and have now brought it to a nice enough place where I can comfortably make the switch. Blogger just had too few options for me. So watch out world, Griffis is blogging in a fresh new way. Let me know what you think of the new place. Is there anything you think I am missing? Let me know. This page is still under construction as I dabble, so enjoy and comment away. You just might make the recent comment list.

Moving On To Bigger and Hopefully Better Things

Goodbye Blogger. Hello WordPress! That’s right, I have been working on it and have now brought it to a nice enough place where I can comfortably make the switch. Blogger just had too few options for me. So watch out world, Griffis is blogging in a fresh new way. The only downside is that my old blog had 5000+ hits, but at least about half-way into it I created the cluster map for michaelgriffis.com and will be able to transfer that to the new site.

Anyway, stop by and let me know what you think of the new place. Is there anything you think I am missing? Let me know. The new page is still under construction as I dabble, so enjoy and comment away. You just might make the recent comment list. I hope to see you soon!
